Clovis’ recent economic growth has seen many new shops, restaurants, and hotels come to the area. Clovis is a retail and service hub for an area that extends approximately 75 miles. From North Plains Mall to chains like Hastings or for a change of pace visit the antique stores on historic Main Street, Clovis has it all.
The “Clovis Sound,” made popular by such greats as Buddy Holly, was created and recorded at the world famous 7th Street Norman Petty Studios. Inside the studios the large dangling microphones, the old control board, the clocks on the walls and the furnishings look much as they did in the late fifties when Buddy Holly came to record.
Also of interest is the Blackwater Draw Museum and Archaeological Site. The Clovis Point is the earliest point type in the hemisphere.
Clovis grew up around the railroad and a visit to the Clovis Depot Model Train Museum is a must for train enthusiasts.
